Some people use the Marans color chart as a guideline. I haven't ever seen a Welsummer egg chart.
For the most part, the darkest Welsummer eggs just aren't as dark as the darkest Marans eggs. The Welsummer eggs typically have that deep rich terracotta color and many of them have dark spots on them like turkey eggs.
There are some very dark Welsummer eggs but in the overall sceme of things the darkest Marans will beat the darkest Welsummer eggs.
Hope that helps.
Now someone is gonna post of a Welsummer egg that is darker than a Hershey bar.

Hey Sooner,

I'm taking some leave and I think that Peaches might enjoy a short 'Road Trip' if you wouldn't mind us just driving up to make the trade. Just touch bases with her on the number of birds we are trading so I will make space for the birds in the back of the Jimmy.

Hope you have a great day.

Doc

Yeah, Then we would be able to pick up the buff cochin from Artsy then too!

just let me know when... she has become quite a house chicken- but i am sure she will be happier with a flock...

You can try Duramycin or Terramycin in the water. I think LEs also promotes the use of LS-50 for respiratory infections. I believe that you medicate for a week.
