, but she'll be closer soon and further from the "bottom", as for fertility times I read 10 days both ways (10 days after the rooster is gone, 10 days after new rooster is introduced) so 20 days total but I'm sure there is always cases where the hens and roosters don't read the manual and stuff could happen sooner.

Hello everyone!


Thought I would come in the house since I was throwing a temper tantrum at all the lawn mowers we own...

Trying to mow the back yard and I hate the RIDING LAWN MOWER and neither of my two push mowers want to start...

thats all I wanna do right now is cry me a pity party. Can I get some sympathies any one... tee hee.


Enough of me and the lawn woes... WELCOME NEWBIES!!!

You should be able to get a key at any service center for mowers.... I should know, the boys use to lose ours every year.

Hi everyone!

I hope it's okay to just jump into the conversation here. I'm excited to see so many Okies are on here! We've just started our chicken adventure- and we're learning more every day. We started off with full grown birds and our hens (3) are all now laying eggs.

Today's lesson from BYC has been- TICKS. We tend to have a big problem with ticks and I am thrilled to read that our chickens can help to control them.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi! Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather!

Oh yes, those pesky ticks! We have 5 dogs and 3 cats (one is an outdoor barn cat) and we haven't had to use anything besides our
peck-peck-pecking Chickens, Guinea and Turkeys to get rid of our flea and tick population. We are pretty rural and surrounded by trees
and haven't had to treat "any" of our animals (including our livestock and miniature donkeys) for ticks or fleas in 9 years. YAY!
