That's so funny! I thought about what would happen to "us" if BYC ever got shut down, and figured with all the other ways we have found to stay in contact, it would only crimp our style a bit

Hi clothdiaper - Sooner is in Muskogee. Tulsa and Oklahoma City also have water parks, if that is a deciding factor in where in Oklahoma you decide to come

Was it you who was looking at places around Dustin, OK? If you move to a town that small, you'll have to get used to driving 20 miles to the nearest grocery store...

Yep, it was me looking at Dustin.
I know that Henryetta is about 16 miles from Dustin (and the property is 3.5 mls west of town, and 1+ mls off the rd. Wondering how long it would REALLY take to get to Henryetta considering the 1+ mls is dirt road and you cant go more then like 2 m/h.=-)

Looks like Muskogee is 1 hr 14 mins according to googlemaps.
I believe Dustin is approx 1 hr 39 mins from Tulsa and OKC.

Hey, CDM, I saw a workshop listed on the Kerr Center website on straw bale construction that made me think of you. I can't go because I have to do a puppet show that week, but my DW and a friend might attend. Anyway, I figured it might answer some of your questions.

It is apparently at least legal in some parts of the state.

Thanks!! I looked it up. That looks awesome!!

Just a quick post to let you know that Monty and his family are alright, after that tornado touched down just a few miles from the Choctaw KOA a short while ago. They don't have electricity, but are safe in their shelter.

Mary Beth Thank You for the update and thank God they are alright!! They are saying that we are in the most probable area to get some major tornados. We are going to go and stay at the school for a while. Everyone stay safe!!

Oh thank goodness....the loves truck stop is destroyed as well as major damage on other side of highway with another truck stop and houses....pray for those people.......... so thankful all are ok so far

I'm watching Ch. 6 in Tulsa - sister station to OKC Ch. 9. Employees & customers at the Love's at I-40 & Choctaw road were able to get into restrooms in time to escape injury...don't know about people on the road in the area. Maribeth, thanks for the notice about Monty - I saw aerial video of a mobile home neighborhood in the area that was extremely damaged. Do Stephanie & Carl live in that area, too?

Looks like the big cell in Bartlesville is headed toward BigOkie - and then toward Slightly Cracked and Quenston - everybody stay safe!

City - I'm soooo glad you stayed home !

Mom was about to have a run-away, but
finally got through to my oldest son at Noble.
She said the tornado down their way was
about 4 miles east of them. Thanks P&B for
the update on Monty. Earlier they said there
was a tornado at the OKC airport and didn't
remember exactly where you were, either.

Yup, it's still rockin' and rollin' and headed
east and northeast. As soon as it's safe,
we're gonna need to have a roll call on here.
Stimpy, Greybear, and all of you out that way
where all of this fired up, let us know as soon
as you can. Big Okie, batten down the hatches
and let us know that you are OK. Quenston,
Neecy and all you guys in NE OK, please
check in when you can.

Take care !!!

CDM they just announced that there is a good chance Henryetta will get hit by a tornado and the town of Dustin was shown on the weather map. I would not have paid any attention to Dustin prior to this week.
