Buckguy, glad to have you back! Disney World, geez I'm jealous! How was Florida? I'm in need of a vacation, starting to gather ideas... Get any pictures of Disney World??

Grace, mine's the 13th, close enough. I had my 21st on Friday the 13th. I stayed home and went to bed early. *haha* Hey, do you know where I can find some pics of Snowy Mallard ducklings?

JimD, congrats on the future addition! I thought I wanted kids, but now that I'm about to get married I'm changing my mind. What if I have all boys, and they're just like my husband!? *haha*

OK I need to vent..... Came home from easter dinner today to find my only 3 cuckoo marans 4 week old chicks dead. These stupid 3 white sultan mix adult chickens I have pecked them to death. I knew I shouldnt have mixed them yet, but the 4 week old cuckoos were running over all the little chicks in the brooder. I am an idiot. These chicks came from a very good line, and I waited forever for them and now I ruined it! I am just so very mad right now!

Chickenhead, I am so sorry.

I know how you feel, I've wanted to kick myself a few times for my decisions with the animals.

Okiechick, congrats on the hatches! We need an update!

We didn't get any new chicks for Easter, but we did get 7 calves! We've got at least 9 more on the way, too. Its so exciting to see which mama will show up with a calf when we feed.

I have a 5 month old bantam Blue Cochin rooster that I am ready to let go. Let me know if any of you are interested!

Well, I did it. I bought some Icelandic Chicken eggs! Call me crazy but I just had to have some since we already have Icelandic Horses, lol. My husband was not very ammused when I told him
big_smile.png
Oh well, he'll get over it.......... I hope. Needless to say the kids and I are excited.

They should get here on Wed I think. I can't wait!!!!!! Anyway, just had to tell some folks that might be able to relate to the excitement....
Thanks,
Stephenie

egh, that pic is almost disturbing. *ha*

Grace, I got to watch the 8th calf being born today! Well, I actually just saw the right-before and right-after, because the mama laid down. But it was still pretty neat. We are expecting another 8 by June.

We close on the house April 4th and will start remodeling that day. And I think we've picked a wedding date, but I don't want to say so until the location is set. *ha* Right now I am enjoying watching a pair of doves preen in the sunset on the back porch.

Oh! Pretty sure my little ducky is a Runner. Clark was playing with it today and it was standing up all straight and tall like the Runners. I can't wait to see how it will look. How tall are most Runners?

I have no idea what it would be like to have 16 calves!! It seams I cannot even take care of 16 little chicks!

About your Duck being a Runner... I'm going to find some pictures I took of my ducklings (two of them are Runners) last week, so you can compare them to yours.

Hey Okies, anybody going to the Harrah auction on Saturday? I have got to go & take a whole bunch of baby chicks. Gerald and I went to our local feed store on Saturday, and the manager said he received 2 extra chick orders that he didn't order & he wanted them gone before Easter ... so the suckers that we are, bought them all & 3 more brooder lights ... and now there's over a hundred more chicks in the spare bedroom. The store manager said the invoice showed that the naked neck chicks were pullets, so we're keeping all 18 of them, but about half the chicks are the dyed Easter chicks ... orange, green, red, blue & purple. They all came from Privett Hatchery in New Mexico, and the shipping box shows that they are straight run ... at least they aren't all rooster chicks! I can't believe we have all these boxes of chicks in the bedroom ... I have to feed & water & clean up after 7 different boxes or brooders of chicks, several times a day now, along with going to work at Tinker, and feed all the dogs & cats & chickens. And, I've got another 60+ chicks & some turkey eggs due to hatch this weekend. I just might need counseling!

I haven't killed anything yet ... on purpose or accident ... so I guess I haven't quite gone over the edge ... but then again, why did I just buy some more hatching eggs on ebay? Oh my ... What was I thinking!

Well, gotta go, I sure don't have time to sit at my computer anymore!
