Sorry to hear that Stimpy is still struggling...all you prayer warriors out there...let's get to praying!

Man it is hot--I really feel for the creatures when it doesn't even really cool down at night. My mares are always hiding in their stalls...they don't want to leave the comfort of their fan-ventilated stalls.

Well, , gotta get to work...I'll catch up reading posts...be careful in the heat all of you who have to be outdoors!

Good Morning Okies!

How my family doing?

I had to work the Sale in chickasha last night. They had alot of antique estate stuff last night.

1. YES the sale is still on at Fletcher this weekend July 17th @5PM
2.Maribeth, you know I love muscoveys. What colors are they?

Everyone please pray for me and Montana. As you know we were approved as Foster Parents.
I recieved my first phone call to take in some Special Friends this past week. I have to make a
decision today.

Doc says hello. He gets on the big plane today and should arrive in Foreign Soil Tonight sometime.

We maybe missing a couple of our ducks.... one Muscovey and Our Raffle ... None of the ducks wanna be pinned up at night so they all hang out under the coop... But DD didnt see them too so she is worried an animal got them and if so she says Jackson should be fired from his job if he not protecting them also...

Although I think the dogs are....

as over a week ago... Adrian our weenie dog was attacked but survived in the process losing one of her canine teeth

Dixie our Rat Terrior weenie dog mix was attacked by a snake but she is doing good....

Jackson does a great job of terrorizing any cat that comes into our yard that is not our two cats... n they all bark alot at night...

So Who Knows

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday...

Sounds like a coyote or a racoon. Racoons are rather vicious creatures when forced to be. They are easily able to fight with a dog...my Scottie, Cricket, has gone toe to toe with racoons before and fortunately he won the battle, (scared me to death...he was outside and on that racoon before I could even react...by then it was too late to intervene) but I can see a racoon really giving a dog that isn't as heavy or as determined as Cricket is/was and giving a dog a good lickin'. Have I mentioned that I hate racoons?

Coyotes are also known to kill dogs as well--not to mention poultry, goats, sheep, calves, and anything that presents itself as an opportunity. They are worthy of the "Wylie Coyote" nickname!

Just talked to Lou, Stimp's wife. She indicated that Stimp is expected to be in the hospital for awhile while he fights this infection. I plan to go by this afternoon and give Lou a hug

Peaches - you will know what you need to do regarding the foster children once you give it some prayerful thought. That is a decision only you can make and the age of the "special friends" should be considered in your decision.

Don't know yet what color muscovies I will be bringing to Fletcher. I am going to try and select unrelated trios if my numbers are right. Most are pied with grey and white and some have herringbone looking breast feathers.

Has anyone had a chance to look at the new and improved release of Storey's Raising Chickens by Gail Damerow? I have the original one she wrote, and The Chicken Health Handbook (the chicken keeper's bible--gotta have it if you don't already) also by Gail...but haven't had a chance to look at the newest edition of Raising Chickens. I just wonder if it has enough new info to justify the purchase...anyone know??

Al tell stimpys family they are all in our prayers here at the Herzig house.
Please let me know if thier is ever a flower collection or something.
She is in a dog kennel in the house. Cool. Now if you have her on your lap on HER BACK the lump is not near her vent but higher toward her "stomach" area. That is closer to what I should have said. The others are all fine. Clean coop. She is eatting and pooping the same. No egg and lump still their. Soft and can not feel any hard egg.

Hey Beth - I have a Black Australorp hen with this same thing - it doesn't seem to bother her at all and she is laying, etc. just like normal.

Please let us know how things are with Stimpy and Lou if you do get a chance to visit - I am so worried about him. Thanks for visiting.
