Great Macy shot at a few dove but they wer to far of she has a 410 an its geting hard to get shell's around hear it look's like we need to get together some time on the weekin a go hunting we may not get any but we would have fun..

My husband just got a 410 and agrees that the shells are HIGH! He recomends a Remington 870 - cheap shells and very dependable, and no kick.

Wally world here in Kingfisher has shells and there is always Gene Sears' Supply in El Reno. If they don't have the shells for a gun none exist.

Last time I was there they had a 44-40 long gun that was really hard to leave there.

Sounds like you may need to get some full sized Orientals for protection against bears!

I've verified that two of my Buckeye hens are now laying. I hadn't expected to see any eggs for months or until spring even, but they must have decided to save me from the carton of store-bought sitting in the fridge. I celebrated by baking my first successful quiche with a generous amount of cheddar cheese and turkey bacon.

My rooster and one of my hens seem to be joined at the hip and he is quick to show off every time I go in their pen. Apparently he must think that I'm some kind of "super-rooster" and obviously I must be after his girlfriend. Looks like I might need to make an apron for her, she's getting a bald spot.

Those that show at opens, I have a question. Last year one of my kids did 4-H poultry and we were hassled at the entry gate because we didn't have a delivery tag which we had been told we didn't need. This year my two eldest are showing in the opens. We're supposed to coop-in tomorrow and we don't have a delivery tag or the entrance tickets I ordered. I emailed and asked and was told to enter at the delivery gate and our tickets would be waiting at the poultry barn. No mention of the delivery tag.

I emailed back and asked about it again, just the delivery tag, but haven't heard back yet. Is this just a breakdown of communication between the gate security and department superintendent? Does this kind of thing happen a lot?

I'm getting terribly frustrated. Gate security about had my kid in tears last year and I'd really like to avoid a repeat.

Jim, you just get the gratitude and respect of those you represent. . . . or at least of those who have a clue how challenging your position is and what they stand to lose if the wrong person is in the position.
