I am jealous! I love Amish auctions. We went to one in Shippshewana Indiana a few years ago and I got a lot of great tablecloths, linen towels, and cool antique kitchen ware. We spent an hour watching the cows auctioned off and it was the most interesting animal auction I have ever witnessed.

I am open for suggestions on "cheaper sources of feed" as well. One reason I want to attend some auctions this weekend is because the cute little chicks, turkeys and ducks are now bigger chicks, turkeys and ducks and eating 50 lbs of feed every day.

Look into US Suppliers we use thier chick starter and layer feed, they run about $8 a fifty pound bag the birds grow very well on it. With the layer we have noticed feed consumption reduce while egg production increased. The adult birds do very well and look great on th elayer feed, it is offered in 15% and 17% protien bases pellet and crumbles.

where do you find US Supplier's feed? I have been getting Nutrena layer pellets at Kings Feed in Harrah, for about $8.65 per 50# bag. The protein level is about 16%

I wanted to judge that BBQ event but no one ever answered my emails or returned my calls.

I hope you had a good time and didn't eat too much.

I am really sorry about the death of your cat, but you have to let it go. You can't just prop a dead cat up in the middle of your chickens or arrange him like a guard cat on top of your pens for a photo Op. You need to bury him.
Strange thing is, he doesn't even look dead in those pics. If you are gonna insist on keeping him though, you might want to take him to a taxidermist. He will keep longer that way.

Sigh....you're right Monty - I wondered what that smell was...

After I posted the photos under "dead cat" I thought maybe I might have to explain to SOME people that the photos were taken when he was alive. Always go with your gut instinct.

So do I need to hook you up with the Art of BBQ committee, Monty? I didn't eat too much - I was cooking and serving. Okay, maybe "cooking" is too strong of a word. They let me touch the green beans, but that was about it.

I'm catching up after being away from the computer for a couple of days. I hope you're feeling better, Matt/MMPoultry. NNbreeder/Les, you are an angel!! Wayne - hope you made it safely back to TN - thanks for the message about the nut cracker!

Okay - back to catching up!

Wayne not wishing my life away just the day! The sooner it is over the quicker I get to go home & play with chickens, make soap or just relax!

I wish I could auction this weekend I have a roo that slipped through on me & he needs to go bad before he hurts my bantams.

Yes we plan to show at Fayetteville, got to get my paper work in. I am happy to hear that they won't be allowing the one's that showed up 2 hours late last year to enter.

Hi jsmonasmith! There, there (patting you on the back), it's okay. Lots of people have moved from OK to CA and survived the experience. The happier stories, though, are of those people from CA who move to OK and realize they have finally found the Promised Land.
