Hey..that was my scrub! He was bad...that is why he was there! NOt sure where he came from...my other ones are bigger...
I think Shawnee closes today--Nov. 15--and you have to mail it to Dallas. I have a history of missing entry deadlines, so I have learned to mind my P's and Q's about those things.

Yes Please!!!! I am looking for 2 more girls. I want to post a recent pic of my Rooster to see what you think.
P.S. Bantam right? Yout signature line says Partridge LF
Mike D. - No birds from my bro on saturday night. He said that you bought those black cohins that I was looking at and he bought the buff brahmas for himself.
I heard you got those cochins at a good price. Interested in selling a couple of them?
Enjoyed helping my birds find some sort of small beetle in the litter beneath a cage I pulled out of the coop. If they had been in my beehive, I would have identified them as small hive beetles. Since they were in the chicken house, I am just calling them small black bugs. The chickens had a great time scratching through the hard litter that had compacted beneath the cage.
Looked over at the peacock cage at dusk, just in time to see one of this season's peachicks fly to the top of the cage where it isn't wrapped in chicken wire and slide through the cattle panel onto the cage next door. Reminded me of teenagers sneaking out of the house when I saw that the other peachick was already roosting on top of the peacock cage. They are inside the cage during the day, so I don't know how long they have been doing that
I guess the guineas that roost on the top of the peacock cage will alert them to any danger during the night.
Today I went to the Department of Ag and bought a small bottle of NPIP testing antigen, so it is still available for certified testers in the small size.
We're struggling to get any interest in poultry here at this point, much less finding others interested in testing/sharing. It's getting downright depressing. I had to teach myself how to process from BYC, Youtube and a friend over the phone. The kids' 4-H club asked if I'd be the poultry leader
but no other kids have signed up yet that I know of.
That's fine, we're already working on birds to blow them away with next year. No way can anyone pass by stunning white Silkies and not stop to gawk. I don't care who you are.
We're bringing 9 birds to Shawnee. 4 Native Okies.
DD's bringing a trio of blue Silkies. DS's bringing 2 Sumatras and 4 Ameraucanas.
DS wanted to do showmanship, so I checked it off. I know showmanship is handled different in different places. Anybody have any experience with it for Shawnee? Dress code, format??? Any help is appreciated.
