Good Monring everyone! Sorry I missed you late night posters!

Why do they sell the birds that they won with???? Did you have to pay an arm & a leg for them?
Monty, paint that hall way~
Michael, if you ever run across some nice mottled, get them for me & I will make the drive to get them.

I'm going tonight, but I don't know if I'll stay or just drop stuff off. Sherri (dandellion007) still goes, but she doesn't get on here much to talk.

I think our poultry still get small cash prizes but I'm not sure what they are since we haven't got it yet. LOL. She did get that cool bag!

I looks like it's going to be a great day, the sun is shinning!!

Sorry your feeling bad MJ

Well, I got part of the paint job done. I have painted around the trim and I have everything else painted to about 8 feet high. Now the fun part comes when I have to get on the ladder.
But first I am gonna go to the chicken pen and get some fresh air.

Instead of WOOT, substitute YES or SCORE.

We only get $1, $2, $3 and ribbons for poultry at our locals. Same for everything as far as I can tell. Only difference is the food auction and livestock premium sales. Poultry and rabbits are not included in the premium sales.

Interstate Fair and Rodeo had about the same I think except some higher for the tops like GRCH. I know DS got $15 for that as well as a blanket and APA pin. They also apparently included at least the GRCH in a premium auction (didn't find that info in the show catalog) as DS got a check for something like 20% of it.

State is the same as our locals unless you enter the opens. Their's is a little bit higher, but nothing fabulous from what I could tell.

One thing's for sure, I spend way more $ for the kid's to show than they could possibly ever get. It's a pretty expensive venture from where I'm standing. I imagine that's true of any exhibition pursuits or hobbies though.

Spent most of yesterday moving birds around and doing other outdoor maintenance activities. I'll be moving my Buckeye chicks out into the big brooder today. I know they will like the extra space to flap around in.

I had a terrible dream last night that my new incubator somehow turned the shells of all the eggs soft so that they cracked and made a huge gooey mess.

I guess I should lay off of the snacks before bedtime.

i asked him why he was selling them , and his response to me was that he had several birds at home already , im guessing the stock that these come from or new birds but the birds were banded and such , and i got my pair for 12.00 , the bb reds are the most popular of the oegb at the brushy sell 99% of the time that variety goes for top dollare , ive seen a cage of 15 birds go for 12 to 15 dollars each for the bbr , but that doesnt happen all the time , and most of the time the birds stay cheap usually the birds you would think would bring more actually bring less , due to there are alot of peopel who dont care what kind of chicken it is as long as it lays an egg , much less actually knowing what breed the bird is , or even buying or selling a bird for the actual breed it is at times too
