SHAWNEE POULTRY SHOW

Here we go, the official lisitng for who is coming to the National show on December 11.
I am open to suggestions as to where and when we meet for breakfast and lunch.
If someone knows of someplace different than what we did last year please let me know.
The Mexican place, Abuelita Rosa's, is where we had lunch. It is right on 177 only a few miles from the show and close to I-40. They also let us use a banquet room so we could be our silly chicken selves. I am open to other places if anyone knows one but that was easy peasy as Al would say!
What time for breakfast? I think you can get into the show around 7:00 A.M. Last year we met at IHOP around six but I think some were there earlier.
Again we are open for suggestions to another place if you know one.
Steph and Carl, you guys live close so maybe you can offer other ideas.
NOTE: The poultry supply place (Smith's I think) that has a booth at the show will have a lot of stuff there but they sell out of some things quickly. I found that out last year when I went back and what I wanted was gone. Go early and buy what you want while you are there.
I will tweak and update this a few times each day.

Is the page count messed up on everyone elses computer?

The cold really hurt the birds didn't lay at all today! My stepdaughter gave me the pumpkins she had for decoration at the daycare and I cooked some up today and made a bread for the chickens. Also gave them some raw. They don't seem to eat it that way till it freezes several times and gets softer. Thought I would save some for my piggys too!
Sounds like Shawnee is going to be fun! Everyone be sure and take lots of pics. Would like to see how much older some of you have gotten since PoooPs!lol Would also like to see pics of some of the more unusal and/or rare breeds.Is this a bantam and standard show?

I like almost all the colors, variety is the spice of life!!!!! The tolbunt pics I have seen are awesome!!!! Why do they call the naked neck silkies "showgirls" and are they showgirls even if they are roosters?

Can't speak much to orpingtons, or cochins, my only experience has been EE and only for the last 10 wks. I am mulling over in my mind the possibility of an additional small group to raise for meat

hope that's not to offensive off of the meatie thread. If I do that I'm thinking of a copper marans roo over sussex and delaware (the ones w/ silver) for sex linked chicks. Keeping a rotating flock of 20-24 (the babies not the breeding trio). This will all be in the spring if it happens, need to see how it goes w/ my current girls and in town for noise level and neighbor reactions.

Planning on "boiling a frog" w/ my neighbors and see how far I can get. (start w/ cold water and gradually increase the temps until I get what I want)
