Jump in & tell me about your brooder set up. I need to think about this for my project. Here are idea's so far:

Pen that they can stay in from day old to 10 to 14 weeks
signs that can move pen to pen, noting age & breed

ok not too exstatic today , i still have the buff orps from shawnee in the house. well i came home from work last night and the roo's eyes were starting to mat up , so i wiped them with a warm cloth wet from salt water . he has stayed with the hen and they both have been getting SULFAMETHOXAZOLE/TRIMETHOPRIM 400 MG-80 MG TAB , which is a generic name for bactrim ... they are fixing to get a dose of penicillin ...... so you guys think i should start tylan anytime soon ?

he has been crowing everyday except for today , they both have been eating and drinking just fine , the batrim is in the water as well as vitamins and electrolytes

The babies will move the same way. This way when its time to put new birds in them I will empty the pens move the pens. This way when I put new birds in it they are on ground that nothing has been on for a month. If it turns out that i do have a sick group or something i can always move the pen to a new area.

I really like the idea of doing that but it isn't going to work for me. I don't have that much room to work with.....see DH thinks his horses should have the pasture! LOL.

LOL.......... Just tell him you need the pasture so he has to share...... It really doesnt take as much space as you would think. About half an acre, defenaitely under 1 for us and we have around 20 breeds and 8 grow out pens planned.
