I have Partridge Cochins (LF), Black Cochins (B), Barred Cochins (B), White Cochin (B), Silverlace Wyanedotte, WCB Polish, RIR (B), Barred Plymoth rock (B), Silver duckwing OEGB, Blue Golden OEGB, Black OEGB, Sumartra, lone NN & Several EE's.
But some of them are my moms but most of them are mine!! All of the oegb's are mine the polish are mine and the black,white and barred cochins are mine. The barred plymoth rocks and the rhode island reds are my show chickens..

Hopefully, you don't do your mom like Jaxon does me. When he wants to buy something - it is his. When it is time to feed and water, all the chickens are "mine"

I wish his school had a 4H program. He would enjoy showing the birds and Papa and I would enjoy helping him do that.​

Large, long cages work well also. You can put a piece of plywood on top to provide shelter from the rain and straw bales on 3 sides to provide a windbreak during cold weather. No sawing or hammering required.​

Your Mom was just saying the other day about how much she wanted to get more chickens for you to show and maybe get you started in your very own breeding of some other birds, she even mentioned getting you your very own incubator.

Have you considered rabbits? I hope to have some fawn colored Flemish Giant rabbits available this Spring. Since there are not many youth who show them (not many adults in Oklahoma showing them either) they will put you up a notch or two in the judging.
