Joe - your inbox is full. I saw the pictures of your Coronation Roo. He is beautiful! I'd like to have Light or Coronation Sussex some time in the future. Make sure you post chick pictures when you have your fist batch. I'm sure they will be gorgeous.

Late morning everyone...

I cant believe our hens are laying still in this cold weather.. sure some are frozen eggcicles lol but laying just the same is mind boggling.. any one else still got laying hens? Things are winding down here, the folks with the easement came by and tore up a 30foot wide dirt path along the property... looks so naked and bare with the trees gone.... but it is what it is..

Jason and I still continue to do what we can with this place making do with what we got while at the same time.... look sparingly at homes and property available in eastern oklahoma... and I say sparingly because we still have 6 years left of life in the Military before Jason retires at 20 year mark(he will be 41 when he retires)... and alot can happen between now and then.

So how is everyone else fairing.. I see from the quick speed read of the posts since I last visit have the few normal folks posting up a storm... where is everyone else?

P&B your bee info a few posts back was very enlightening and educational especially when it comes to the africanized bees

Good morning all, Jeannie my hens are laying like crazy, we have(Christmas) lights on ours (see pics a ways back ) !!! It isw bitter cold up here, had some French toast and home grown bacon for breakfast!!!! Not too ambitious today!!! Wayne I love the quilt!!! Do you just do the small quilts or do you do big ones too, do you have quilting frames or do you use a big quilting hoop? My grandmothers and my mom and aunts all quilted when I was young but not much now, I do miss my grandma she was the one that encouraged me so much to be involved with chickens, gardening and the old ways, I love cooking, canning, farming, gardening, Chickens, birds of all kinds, and History in general. Have a great daqy all and enjoy life to the fullest for it is soon past and only becomes memories!!!! Lynn

A few post back I asked, is there anyone on our forum that raises any color of Leghorns in the Large size??? No response!!! Is there anyone interested in Colored Leghorns, I am considering ordering some from a hatchery maybe later on!!! Lynn

Thqanks Lynn! I usually only do the twin or lap quilts now. The larger ones get me bored so it takes longer to finish one!My mom and two of my sisters quilt(mom is now gone home) so I decided I would like to try it and find it enjoyable. I can't just sit still ,have to be doing something so it helps!
I think the red leghorns would be neat!
Banjoe did you sell the yokohamas yet?

Joe - I will be ready for some Coronation Sussex at the end of May or early June. We need to find a time to meet up so I can get a couple Del roos from you, maybe in two or three weeks. School starts back up tomorrow, so I'm going to be swamped. Report cards go out as soon as we get back into the classroom

Some parents take an interest in what students are doing about four times a year, so I'll be spending some time on the phone this week explaining that sleeping doesn't count as participating in class.
