Joe since you have kids you know they have alot of wants but we won't be adding any new birds till spring, I have my hands fulll just dealing with what she already has & my laying flock, not to mention the house!

Carl, I don't know how to double quote so I will just tell you that you are soooooo bad! You know that you are gonna have to let me see you set up so I can figure out something for my place. When I made my pens I planned to have some pretty birds & a laying flock, now look what has happened!

Wayne, I love your quilt, your daughter is very lucky! I just got a new quilt for Christmas, I will take a picture soon & post it. I have a quilt frame that I have never used, I hope to do that someday when my kids don't keep me on the run all the time.

OK DOODLE, I think I would like to try quilting, have always found it fascinating! I have an idea for one that someday I would like to try. I would love to get some of the Red Leghorns and am considering ordering some of them and the Exquersior(Black and white splash patteren) or whatever it is also!
LilSooner, glad to see you online, You are lucky to have such a great Mom!!! I have had chickens and birds almost all my life and my mom was very supportive of my ventures when I was young also. I was always busy doing something!!! Kept me out of trouble most of the time!!!

If your chickens roost inside a building, close up the building tonight after they are on the roost and don't open it until the Dept of Ag is there tomorrow. I usually go inside the coop once the Dept of Ag arrives and catch the birds one or two at a time for NPIP testing. Then I toss them out into the yard after they are tested, since they will go back inside that evening. It is the birds that roost in the open that are a challenge to test. If possible, catch them on the roost tonight and put them into pens/cages until tomorrow. I always have problems catching mine during the day.
