I am sitting here thinking about your statement that you are about out of wood. So, in the Panhandle, where large trees are scarce, is wood really an economical source of heat?

It has been my understanding that they burned cow chips out there .

Traditionally, wouldn't that have been Buffalo chips?

What about Mesquite? Doesn't that grow well in your area? I can't think of any other burning wood that smells so wonderful; pecan is a close second, but Mesquite rules.

You scared Lil Sooner away so I will answer them for her.

MOnty funny....

No mesquite out here...really miss it. That is what I grew-up with and wish I had large quantities to use. The problem with using cowpies is you have to make sure they are fully dry...but you really only want to mess with the dry ones so you end up messing with non-dry ones and that is a problem.

I am with Buckguy...I ain't gonna try no chipping of buffalo...not sure how you could convince one to get into the chipper but I am sure it wold not go good for the chipper or the person trying to get it in the chipper...actually it would probably be an anti-chipper cuz I am sure there wouldn't be anyone involved that would be chipper afterward...

Well I guess I am gone to the house. Gotta play with birds and make dinner...

"Inertia" is what I feel when it is really cold outside, and the "viscosity" of water is severely reduced because it has become ice.

My working hypothesis is the first few chickens a person aquires is the catalyst that causes an exothermic reaction in the math centers of the brain, slowing the viscosity of the neuro fluids between the neurons causing the condition commonly called chicken math, but you won't find that hypothesis in any thermodynamics text book currently available.

I am so delighted to know that there is a logical explanation for "chicken math."

Monty - I now understand why you are able to "see" figures within pictures that have some of the rest of us tilting our head at odd angles, trying to "see" what you are able to see. I had to read a couple of these twice before I had the "aha!" moment
