Robin, I'd advise treating it like it was bumblefoot. Your bird might have gotten a small thorn or something of the like under the skin and it caused that cyst to come up.

Thanks! It is on the side of her toe, i soaked it, and then lanced it, sprayed it with peroxide, it looks like a cut that festered- it is about half the size now, draining, should i put her on antibiotics?

I was gonna say lance it! Not sure if that is right but I like lancing things especialy when cool smelly stuff comes out.

We are cutting up frogs, salamanders, and a necturus.

I love dissection labs but it smells so bad! I try to do several classes in one day...then last hour we open the window!
