You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

Since you are already offering us the opportunity to acquire hatching eggs, it appears that you are going to be one of the "enablers" on this thread, for those of us who have addictions to hatching poultry.

What color are your EEs and do they have rose combs and gray legs?

Yes my EE's have Rosecombs, and greenish dark legs, they are 2 White hens, 2 Cream/White hens, 2 Black/Gold hens and 2 Hens mix of them all. My Rooster is Mainly White with Gold on his wings. All a little over a year old.

I also have True RIR's that will be great! They are very kind and not aggressive these are all about 6 months old.

Thanks Betsy, I'll have to look at it. Maybe he'd want the extra hole for storing show supplies. Our 4-H fairs limit them to 3 entries.

Don't those cat carriers stack? Wonder if you could stack 3 of them on one of those little 4 wheeled folding carts and bungee. We picked up a lightweight cart/bag thing at the state fair this year that the bag slips off of. I'll have to look at something a little stouter for their wooden boxes, but their wire ones we bungeed to the front and hung the bag full of their show supplies to the back and rolled everything in at once for Shawnee. Sure made coop-in a lot easier and faster.

Hmmm Robin, I don't know. Damage is always possible, but I'd think he'll cause more by way of feather loss than anything more serious. Most of our Silkie boys grab the crest vs the neck maybe because it's just easier. We have a yard silkie that I was back and forth as to it's sex until I saw DS's LF Brahma have a go at her. She walked right off and was fine. She's raising some mixed chicks of his and hers now.

Morning folks! Been out and gave everyone their morning feed and water. Now I remember the joys of raising rabbits. More water bowls to thaw!. My feed room is getting crowed, used to be a sack of milo and a sack of gamebird starter. Now its milo, gamebirdstaeter, scratch, rabbit pellets, and hog pellets, and dog food for the aussie! Hope my wife doesn't look in there,or in my chec k book!lol
Sunny but bitter cold here.Snowstorm due in tonight and snow till tuesday night!
Have to make lots of trips to check for eggs as I am saving some to take to Joe. Don't want them to get chilled.
Sounds like lots of good times at the auctions last night. I sure enjoyed going yesterday. Just wish I had some company to discuss the birds with!

Joe I thought we would come in Jan.but may be Feb. not for sure yet. - How are the birds this morning,or are you at work?I'm saving back golden comet and ee bantam eggs. The wyandotte roo is not old enough yet so I am eating their eggs.

Yes the pigeons will breed in the winter. Its hit and miss on raiseing them. The babys reach a point where they are in pin feathers and to big to be set on all the time so the parents don't.The problem is the pin feathers don't hold heat so they chill in die. If its bitter cold ,it can ghappen in the time it takes the parent to get off to eat and drink. You just have to pray for a warm front at those times,or bring them in!

well i looked when i water and we got two pigeons eggs the one that was on them got off to get a drink than went back i hope they do good i think they are neat
