no jack rabbits yet...we need to work on our methods of catching....apparently the drive down the road and tell the boys to jump out and get it isn't working...I am thinking we might needa throw net...

For the first time since I wormed the laying flock, I am glad that we aren't eating the eggs for a few more days. I really don't care if they freeze and therefore won't worry about gathering them until I have to go outside to break ice for the chickens.

We have light snow on the branches of shrubs and trees and the grass. No snow accumulated on sidewalks or streets.

Teach - sorry you are sick. Hope you are able to sleep today so that you can get to feeling better

! hope you get to feeling better. Itys cold out there! had to change gloves twice. One of the turken bantams started laying,I was hoping they would wait till later so they would lay more in the spring! After looking at the young games I got at the sale it looks like I have a pair of aseels in the group. A guy said they were when I was walking out but I thought they were just regular(if there is such a thing) games. But they are diffently a pair of aseels. A little on the small skinny side ,they eat like they have never seen food before! Maybe they will fill out goodand big.

Hopefully you have some "modern" style chicken soup - the kind that comes in a red and white can or from a square package of dried noodles. A microwave and a 2 cup measuring cup make it easy to prepare those two modern conveniences.

I have to confess however that when I don't feel good, I want tomato soup - prepared with only 1/2 can of milk so it is thick and creamy.

Aseels you say...you know a guy could turn a nice profit of them if he was to bring them to poops...hint hint

P&B...I don't have anything currently but am thinking of going out...it is kinda stupid cold out there...and yes it will be the modern type but it is still better when a pretty gal prepares it for you when you are man sick...I am against tomato soup...never have liked it...I really like tater soup...maybe I can get the mom to make me some when she gets home. She is picking up the boys so should be in early...

I concur that life doesn't get much better than homemade potato soup, made with onions and celery. I don't think I have ever actually made it myself since it wasn't something my mother made (we grew up on Campbell's chicken noodle, vegetable beef and tomato soups), but I still recall how good it was when a friend's mom used to make it. Potato soup from a can just isn't the same

If it weren't for Raman noodles, my sons would have starved when they had to fix themselves a meal. I still buy those by the case for the grandchildren.

Teach - your comment about not liking tomato soup reminded me of a time when my mother had a neighbor babysit my younger brother and me for a few hours. She took the lady a can of tomato soup and assured her that it was one of our favorite things to eat. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to my mom to tell the lady that we always prepared it with milk at our house. Needless to say, we didn't eat it when the lady prepared it with water

my lady friend makes a great tater soup....heavy on onions and then she always has the good stuff to put in it...bacon...green onions...cheese...croutons...
