OMG I got to sleep in till 9am this morning!!! Now I gotta go do chores, the wife didn't do them this morning, thying to get Dakota up and around, Heather is feeling lots better, she let me sleep in, now she is feeding her fish, watching cartoons and coloring, have to get batteries today for the camera and will take a pic of her guitar she made! Have some running around today to do if I can get the wifes van to start! be on when I can.
Don most of my pens are 4x5 and a few are 4x6, I keep pairs and trios year round in them, sometimes have more in the bigger pens, I have a 16x16 pen and 6x8 house for my Americaunas and laying hens(15 birds) and have my rabbit pens attached around the inside of their pens. I have all Standard size birds. I just try to look at the size of the birds and give them room to move around and spread their wings.
Yall have a great day, still snow and cold here but should warm up some today, talk at ya later, Lynn

My breeder pens are 5"x12' plenty of room for me to get around in and do chores, I normally put in 4-5 Hens per rooster more or less depending on what I have at the time. I move them around also depending on hatch rates and laying amounts.

Thanks for the info, please keep it coming..
My pens for the birds in my sig. Line are 8x20 plus the coop and I have 8 to 10 hens plus a roo in each.
I am planing some cross breeds from what I have and throw a couple of different roosters in the mix for my own
Enjoyment of seeing what I can come up with..
I was just worried that I wouldn't give them enough room.

but your right, think of it this way, it saves on space and more room for birds LOL.

Here it is my very first egg!!!!! It is a creamy alvacodo color, the color in the pic is almost identical to the actual egg. There is a store bought medium egg for color and size comparison.

Lynn - where were those pigeons at? Cuz I could use a couple of those birds.

breeding pens...most are about 4'x4' and I run trios to quads depending on the bird...I also have a little smaller pens that I run pairs or trios in...then I have the long pens that are like 5'x10'ish and I will have a couple roos and like some hens...but those are bantams...some of the smaller pens have full size birds...I use the 4'x4's for pigeons as well and have like 3-6 pairs depending on size of bird
