I'm sure glad my favorite of favorites "Poof" is a hen. She's a hoot.

I've named my favorite Black Rosecomb Rooster "Strut". Seems to fit him.

I'm back! And I'm MARRIED!

Everything went perfectly at the wedding and the reception, and its amazing how much better we both are without all the stress!

And I got to take pictures of baby ducks at the wedding AND the honeymoon! I will be sure to post then. *haha*

I'm so sorry that the Cement auction was such a fiasco for everyone. I guess every auction has good times and bad times though. And please keep in mind that the Cement auction is fairly new; they're still trying to work out all the kinks.

Goldrose, I am so jealous that you got Black Rosecombs! I wanted a pair so bad, my grandmother almost bought me a pair at the very first Cement auction.

Foghorn, congrats on the hatch! Hatches are always so exciting, and I can't believe you got so many Calls!! I've heard they are difficult to hatch, and with your incubator's interruptions, that's really good!

Carla, I can't believe you sold all your duckies! I think ducklings are the cutest. You can come to my backyard any time you want to see some. *haha*

Monty, sounds like you got a decent price for your birds. Sorry the Pene didn't go though.

CONGRATULATIONS! Glad everything went well!

As for the BRCombs, I wanted those same birds at the first Cement auction. They sold for like 12 a piece. Being my first auction (and they were some of the first birds sold), I didn't realize how much birds go for and I thought the price was outrageous (36 for three tiny birds!) I told Carla that I regretted it ever since. BUT, by waiting, I save some money on getting not just three, but five! YAY!!

I will have some lavender guinea eggs at the next sale - and possibly my 'extra' BRComb rooster, as he really thinks he can lick anyone in the chicken yard!

Thunderstorm knocked me off the internet and then my puter crashed....anyway, I got a few pics taken before the rain started and they are uploading now, SLOW dialup. When they are done I'll edit this with a link to them.

Okiemommy, the simplest way to try and prevent theft at the Chicken-Stock (or an auction, fair, or show) is to put a leg band on your bird. Of course, just a numbered leg-band doesn't do much to help, but there are fancier bands that you can have 'engraved' with you or your farms name.

I think we got mostly just the edge of this storm, some thunder and lightning and some heavy rain but it's pretty light now. Seems like we just start to get dried out and here it comes again.
