Did we forget to give you the "Disclaimer" about being "addicted to chickens" so we therefore tend to be "enablers?" We have thought about a 12 step program for curing an addiction to acquiring poultry, but we haven't had anyone come forward and volunteer to lead the group.

thats funny I rented a cargo van and drove from central texas to the Ok panhandle then to blanchard and I decided I brought the van now lets fill it. Had to make a stop by Carla's and then Michaels but we got it done, did I mention it was like 4 degrees.

I can believe it! I am enjoying it, I will say that. My husband says this addiction is better than my gambling one, so he is all for it. Wait till he gets home and I tell him he has to build me another chicken house.

Fortunately, buyer's remorse goes away fairly quickly - much more quickly than the kick to yourself when you let something you really want go home with someone else, and then you spend several months and many more miles trying to find another one like it.

what ridiculously priced chickens?

Your going to laugh at how much of a newbie I am...I really wanted the golden lace wyandotte and one of the other gray ones that Im not even for sure what they are...im thinking Cochin, both hens. I paid 32 each, all my other hens I paid 10 - 12 for but they were from a friend

Yes she is a blue cochin.
I WILL have a pair of standard cochins like her some day to go with all my bantam cochins. I'm thinking Buff or Splash. I think I will have to pre-order some from Stephanie and Carl Jarvis. I am slowly getting my husband prepared. He thinks I have enough chickens and I can't exactly hide a couple of standard in with my bantam flock. A bantam cochin roo is about 2 lbs. and a LF is 11 + lbs.!

Now that you said that I did just notice that you aren't a fellow okie. Being a texan might explain why you went around your elbow to get to your rear.

did you see me bid on them? I was so nervous. Sounds ridiculous but it goes so fast. Want me to slip you some cochin eggs? "Honey I don't know what happened, she just kept growing."

Some folks "hide" the clothes or shoes they buy for awhile, then say "this isn't new, I have had it awhile"

We try to figure out how to blend in one more chicken so that it isn't obvious we have increased the size of the flock.

No kidding P&B I passed on a pair of mandarin ducks recently I have been kicking myself ever since, I was being cheap. I WILL buy the next pair I see if they look as nice as the pair I passed on.
