Good morning Oklahoma! We are up early and headed to the GD 's volleyball tournament! Just doesn't feel right to be up his early and it not be chicken related!lol
Sounds like most of us had a good time at auctions yesterday. Haven't seen Bandjoe check in yet tho, hope you did good too Joe.

Good morning Okies, how is everyone, it does look as though most of you are sleeping in today. Charley is coming down here to Elgin from Tulsa, he's going to be picking up some birds and Hatching egg's from me then we are going to Gerald Blakely's place in Cement to meet with another Cornish breeder from Florida. It's going to be a nice day of looking over birds and talking Cornish, we are going to do some AI'ing and comparing notes and technics. I am still not feeling very well with this 101 fever, but I am not going to miss this.

Good Morning sweetpea, it does look to be nice if that wind would slow some.

We have a 30% chance of rain so we won't get it & 83 degrees so it will be hot with 18 mph wind so I will stay down in the my low spot after church & taking care of grandma.

You have fun with your chicken buddies! Are you getting a new line or hatching eggs?

AL - it sounds like you have a Cornish lover's ideal day planned. Please take care of yourself and stay well hydrated with that fever.

(and just why do you have a fever anyway? I wouldn't have thought that your procedures would have made you ill

Donnie - Congrats on getting a new pup. Hope you have lots of cash for dog food. Our little (BIG) Vesta is eating like a coal burning locomotive. She's growing big, strong, and very protective. Well worth the cost of feeding her.

City - I set some more Blue, Black, and Splash Ameraucanas eggs. I got a nice surprise from the breeder I got the most recent batch from: 5 of 11 were broken. She is sending replacements! I love it when folks realize that the USPS isn't perfect, and sometimes eggs get broken. I usually have good experiences with shipped eggs. It's that once-and-a-while that makes me wonder. Do some people think "Fragile" is Italian for "Step Here?"

Be sure to load your pockets with rocks, Mr. Fencepost. We don't want to hear about you being blown like a tumbleweed into the next county.

In a way, it was a relief to see that yesterday's temperature set a record high for temperature on April 9, since 1934. It was too hot for me, without a few weeks of acclimation. I had to wait until early evening to do chores, when it was starting to cool down.

No not getting anything new, just making some time to gather with like minded Pro's and visit on the finer points of, showing, conditioning, breeding, select culling, AI'ing, stuff like that. It is always one of my favorite parts of breeding chickens, the learning and sharing. I just wish it wasn't so dang windy, over 40mph today here.

I know you will enjoy it & like P&B said take care of yourself. 40 mph! Guess I won't complain about my 18!
