if they had the little tags it would save too much feed, Purina worked hard back in the 19th century to eliminate the quality tags the chicks hatched with so they could sell more feed. Now for the rest of the story

I will bring a couple of mixed adults and some mixed chicks, unless I sell them before hand.

I might have some NN chicks, not sure yet as they haven't hatched. Same for some muscovy hatchlings if my duck successfully broods her eggs.

I'm putting a saipan/shamo hen in the fundraising auction, unless she goes broody. Not likely though, considering she just stopped brooding recently.

I won't sell game chicks because I'm needing them to grow up before I let them go, unless they're a cross or yard hatch.

A light comb combined with the watery droppings are probably a clear sign of worms. The green is undigested bile from the digestive system and the pale comb suggests anemia which is common with blood-sucking parasites.

What I would do is to worm the entire flock starting with Wazine-17, don't even try natural stuff as they are more of a maintence wormer and not for a situation like this.

Use at a rate of 1oz per gallon of water and I would use for a full day and kinda keep watch as to how well they drink it.

Now at the seven day when you are supposed to repeat the Wazine swap to Noromectin which is an Ivermeck based and a broader spectrumed wormer. I use 1/2cc on a bit of bread and give ind. to each bird.

Wait the customary 14 days after the last treatment to eat the eggs.

And if you have any questions PM me.

Hi all. Its been a while since I've logged in. I've been busy with life and all.

I did get some chicks to hatch. I've got over 2 dozen chickies in the brooder. It is a mix of Seramas, Silver Duckwing OEGB, and Bantam Cochins. They are so cute. I think I ended up with some splash and chocolate Seramas. I hope the chocolate ones stay the color, but I think they are turning a reddish color already.

Edited to add these pics......

She came out of my friends 1 year old coop so she should be pretty young...we will see.

Ok...So I need to dig around in the feathers and find the vent and stick two fingers between the pelvic bones. Didn't realize in getting chickens that I would have to become a Chicken gynecologist!
