Ticks seem really bad this year, they don't bother me a lot but the wife is a different story.

Good morning everyone

Morning ! Everyone seems to have short morning greetings tihs morning!lol

Coop I would have thought the gunieas would have taken care your ticks!
Brr cold here this morning,37! but supposed to warm up to almost 80 today.

My little turken hatched out 10 out of 11,not bad. Wish the nights would stay warm so I could wean the first ones off the lights. They are almost feathered out except for their heads. I've learned that feathers on the head is a must to get them away from heat. Seems they aren't quite hardy till that head feathers out.

Carah : Any word yet on what happened, can we help in anyway ??.

We had to move the fence on our dogs & they found a way out past the hot wire, I can only find one dead chickens but I have several of Lil'Sooner's moderns missing. Needless to say my dogs are on chains, if DH could of found his shells early this morning in the dark we wouldn't have dogs right now & I have to say I wanted to do it myself. She has a show this weekend & the moderns that she planned to show are the MIA ones. Hoping that when I get home the others that are missing will turn up. My dogs don't eat them you see, they just kill them so there should be bodies.

Not my idea of how to start my day.

your hubby is a keeper!! wow that is so special!

Thank you, Robin, and everyone else. Yes, my hubby is definitely a keeper - I've kept him around for 32 years, I suppose a little longer will be good
smile.png
Did I mention he gets up every morning and makes my breakfast and coffee while I take care of the chickens, then sends me off to work in Tulsa and runs the whole mess at home, including homeschooling our two boys, running the ranch, training horses and a farrier biz? Not to mention his ministry and all the other little things he does - yes, definitely a keeper!

Thanks again!

How awful! Prayers that the MIA turn up soon!

Our dogs are the opposite end of the spectrum - they PROTECT the chickens, consider them their own flock and will not let predators of any kind anywhere near them. I am so thankful for those old mangy cast-off strays!! Yep, we adopt many of the strays that people dump, and they do turn out to be some of the best dogs!

I have a question for you folks that have been incubating for a long time....if eggs dont get turned for 4-5 days, will that kill the eggs? When I candled the last batch of eggs and put them in hatcher, I forgot to turn the turner back on
sad.png
.....are the eggs in bator likely to hatch? I have like 60 eggs in there...
