We had to move the fence on our dogs & they found a way out past the hot wire, I can only find one dead chickens but I have several of Lil'Sooner's moderns missing. Needless to say my dogs are on chains, if DH could of found his shells early this morning in the dark we wouldn't have dogs right now & I have to say I wanted to do it myself. She has a show this weekend & the moderns that she planned to show are the MIA ones. Hoping that when I get home the others that are missing will turn up. My dogs don't eat them you see, they just kill them so there should be bodies.

Not my idea of how to start my day.

How awful! Prayers that the MIA turn up soon!

Our dogs are the opposite end of the spectrum - they PROTECT the chickens, consider them their own flock and will not let predators of any kind anywhere near them. I am so thankful for those old mangy cast-off strays!! Yep, we adopt many of the strays that people dump, and they do turn out to be some of the best dogs!

I won't own another dog that kills chickens but I have kids that don't understand that. My male was a puppy when we got him & didn't have chickens. I am pretty sure that the next one will be the kind that POCO, NNbreeder & Buster have. So mad I can't think of the name.

Thanks Wayne. She is upset but was able to find two in the neighbors pasture. I don't know that she is upset enough that she wants her dog put down like I do.

So glad she found two - alive? I hope!

And LGDs - livestock guardian dogs. Like Pyrenees or something?

we are very lucky, we have 5 dogs and none of them care about the birds, have had a couple dogs lay there while a chicken walked over them or pecked at them, lol...1 hound, 1 beagle, 1 chihuahua, 1 schnoodle, 1 lab/pit and 1 dane/GS...they are all shelter/rescue dogs except the hound, the lab/pit did chase a bird that got out last week but pretty sure he wont do it again as luckily I was there to show him the error of his ways

Yes that is them, I really need to go have another cup of coffee & settle down. Out of 14 we only found 7 but she still has several of them but the one's she was showing this time are the MIA one's & of course they may be roughed up enough that she can't show them now......

I had a turner fail inside a hovabator. The eggs were not turned for at least the last ten days of the hatch, and I think it was 85% that hatched. I think you'll be okay. I think Joe posted something about turning versus not turning, info he got from a university? I can't remember. You might PM banjojoe.

I will talk to my wife but I am sure we can bring some ribs or something...what is lacking on the food list that is needed the most?
