See what happens when I finally get on and try to catch up? I hog the whole thread. After I catch up I'll tell about my FANTASTIC day where I got to see not one but TWO of my favorite BYC Okies!! Story at 11:00.

My theory on spurs is to leave them be unless they become a problem. They are his natural defense against predators. I know you supervise them when you let them roam, but you never know what may happen.

So, as long as he's respectful to people and not tearing up the hens, he's alright for a white guy

Has anyone ever thought about sticking a couple of those little "happy face" car antenna balls from the '80s on the end of their roosters' spurs? I think that would effectively eliminate the chance of injury and cheer up the whole flock at the same time!

I'll have you know I can get just about as much in my little car as P&B does the magic poultry van! well not really but I hauled 300 lbs of feed and a bunch of birds and rabbits so there

and for the record you do't have to feed guns everyday like chickens....although it is very fun to feed rounds through them real fast!!!

I could teach ya'll how to hog rassle!

You plant first, allow the potatoe plant to come up and add a tire as it grows at least 10 inches above the ground, add additional tires and dirt to make th eplant grow taller and it sets new roots and grows more potatoes from what was the green stalk. We used 5 gallon buckets instead of tires both work well. When you are ready to harvest a stack you kick it over, new potatoes on the space closest to the top and they get bigger as you go down the stack. I have seen these as high as 4 ft.

cool idea, just planted potatoes for the first time this year.

I like them both. I am partial to buffs of any breed. We have a pair of bantam buff cochins and the pullet has 7 eggs in a clutch now. I hope she goes broody. I'd like to see some buff babies. She is very fluffy butted though, if her eggs are fertile I'd be suprized.

I love it! I've got to see a rooster running while wearing those.
