Thanks Wayne. There are some leftovers. Would you like me to package them up and send send them your way? I believe that Al can do much better, but I gave it a try. It was my first time to cook asparagus and my first time to steam veggies. I just had to try and show him up tonight because he was giving me a hard time last night about my affliction towards turkey and swiss sandwiches.
I offer several different sizes and types of roosts....cedar limbs ranging from 1 inch to 2 inches, 2.5 x 1/2 boards on nest boxes, a mix of 1.5 x 1/2 rounded edge boards and added a 1 x 3 inch board to the roost. I've noticed that birds move to different positions on the different roost boards. All my chickens are standards.
The roost boards in the growout pen are 1 inch cedar limbs and 1.5 x 1/2 inch boards....the young birds are close to bantie sizes right now.
ArtsyRobin, we have a friend who used to work in the Colorado Zoo many years ago....he says putting sugar on an open wound and then bandaging it will help the healing process. It's a very old-fashioned remedy that does work on gangrene, burns and surgical wounds that can't be stitched.
We were getting hail and heavy rain within this past hour.

Hey FarmChicken - make your coop way bigger than you think you need for the number of chickens you are planning to get...because you WILL end up with more...
