Finally got caught up!
Welcome all you great new folks! I'm one of the temporarely out of state Okies!
Good to hear that a lot of you finally got some moisture. We have missed the storms so far, they are north of us this time.
Had a good time at the auction today. It wasn't as big as the last, everyone is keeping their breeding stock. Lots of eggs and chicks. I sold EE bantam eggs for $3 a dozen. Bougt a couple of nice small mini rex rabbits. Believe I will get rid of my crosses and go rex, they always sell good as pets. And Joy Joy!!! I got my first pair of Seramas at the sale today! They have finnaly come down to the common mans market. These were the first I have ever seen at auctions around here. And a lot of people didn't know what they were, the ring men evn just called them "banties".There were three pair,I got the pair most looking like what I have seen pics of. They were the smallest,I think the hen may even be an A class! I would rather had a more colorful roo but he has some white in his wing so maybe he will throw colors. They are just comming out of moult so his tail isn't very long yet.

And even if they aren't perfect,I still am thrilled about them. They are wild as all get out so will have to try and gentle them down, any suggestions!

lots of treats, and not a whole lot of handling til they get used to you...I had some moderns that were flighty as all get out, I gave them some old roy dog food every day, the kind you buy that come in small pouches, like tiny sausages....those have helped more than anything...now my moderns follow me around...

Thanks NN, will do- now, looking at the roosts after reading some- height should be about 2 feet? are branches better than 2 x4's due to pressure on the feet? i have some very unhappy chickens after lowering the roosts- like all birds- hate change!

Evening Folks. Its been a long day around here. We've been having a lot of fun. My friend from Geary came down to visit with her family. She has two kids and they have gotten along freat with my kids. This is the first time that the kids have gotten together. I've got to post a pic now, since Al was giving me a hard time about my turkey and swiss sandwiches. This is what I made for dinner tonight: Pork roast with steams potatoes and veggies. It was yummy!!
