IMPORTANT INFO
Here is the donation auction post to clarify for those of you that may have any questions. The main question I get is that this a NON-PROFIT auction for the seller, all proceeds go to the POOPS general accounting fund, and is held in a reserve account for next years POOPS. As all the funds required to hold the 2011 POOPS was held over from last years Fund.

POOPS DONATION AUCTION INFORMATION

We Okies in the BYC are proud to announce the 3rd annual live Donation auction, to be held on the Saturday the day of 2011 Spring POOPS event.

The auction is open to all attending proceeds will go toward the POOPS event fund to help pay for the many expenditures we have incurred. We want to try and make this auction a success for all future events and our members to enjoy and benifit from. This event is one of our only way's to raise $$ funds $$ for our POOPS so please if you can dig deep, and help us continue to have this great event.

Auction rules as follows ;

1. Check in time for auction item's is as soon as you can, to enable folks to view the items up for auction.

2. Non-live poultry items should maintain a poultry theme, I.E.= art's & crafts etc and will be auctioned off first.

3. All poultry must be caged or in a suitable enclosure, cages will not be sold with the poultry unless specified by seller & auctioneer, chicks can of course be housed in boxes.

4. PO's will not be offered in this auction.

5. Bid numbers will be issued to all who want them anytime prior to the auction start time at the auction area.

6. There will NOT be a sellers for profit auction segment this year as we just always seems to run far behind schedule when we have these.

7. All cages and items will be labeled, it is encouraged that you lable your own breeds for better identification to avoid any confusion and benifit both buyer & seller.

8. It is asked that all buyers wait till the end of the auction before gathering up their purchases assited by the auction staff. there may be the opportunity to also buy choice of a particular Lot, if this happens the bidder should have an empty cage available and close by.

9. The auction staff will NOT be running an active post on what is being donated for sale, reason being the list and donations change so frequently it is impossible to keep track of, plus the infussion of last minute items from late donations the day of POOPS.

10. There will NO commissions or Taxes of any kind held back from the buyers and sellers alike.

I hearthat it is really beautful since they have finished the remodel.

Our neighbor was the project foreman on that project and also for the Children's section at the zoo. He said the Myriad Gardens project was really time consuming...they had to take out and replace every piece of window glass and maintain the integrity of the structure....and it was HOT. Haven't seen either but he has some great 11 x 14s of the completion of each project.

We have rain, wind and flowers in Oklahoma too!

Robin : Geese like to be left alone when they brood on the nest, they will choose a camoflaged spot not easily seen in tall grass near the water. Or sometimes nest in a small bow of a tree 3-5' off the ground. If she does successfully hatch a clutch of eggs you will not see them until they take to the water, and you will have a very difficult time getting them back as pet's. They are wild at heart regardless of their previous care takers if allowed to roam, they will be wary to return to a crowded hectic life in a yard full of other fowl. I have for years helped Ducks Unlimited build nesting boxes for Geese and wood ducks in our area, and we must follow strict criteria for building them, they do work great as mated pairs will return year after year to nest in the same spot if they have had successfull hatches there.
