Doodle - Do they mean the birds are blue and lay eggs?

Nocityboy - Your friend reminds me of my younger brother. It was nice to visit with him. I hope the rooster does well with his new hens.

Yes they are listed as blue hens and blue egg layers! The look kind of Andulusian like only prettier. I just am surprised at how they managed to get the blue egg gene and not the pea comb and beards and muffs. Quite a breeding accomplishment. I wouldn't mind haveing them but they are out of my price range!

You know last weekend at the Blanchard auction a game rooster went for $180. I had to take a picture of him because I have never seen a chicken go for that price let alone a rooster. After that $18 does not seem so much. Also want to note, I asked the guy who bought that rooster, if he was going to put a diaper on him and let him live in the house. He just looked at me like I was stupid, I than reminded him he just paid $180 for a rooster. He stopped looking at me like I was stupid after that. Go figure! Just for the record, unless I win the lottery I will never pay that much money for any chicken let alone a rooster.

Well going to go to bed heading to Maud auction in the morning because when I talked to the owner he said they are getting birds in early and last week had over 1000 birds by 2pm and the auction went til 2am. Not really wanting to wait up that late and would like to get some money for my birds, so I do not want them to be last.

They are blue Andelusians.

Good morning everybody, Fun day ahead for me I think LOL. I need to get a few things together for a picnic my DD & her BF

will be going on, they want to go to the wildlife refuge and do some hiking and fishing. Then I get to have the day to myself with the DW, I don't start my next redo till Monday so I will try and realax and gear up for that, Hired 2 more guy's yesterday, I hope they work out we will be busy for the next month.

I spent some time yesterday giving the AL-A-Bator a good cleaning and sanitizing, then gave it a new Wafer thermostat upgrade that as of now is working like a gem. I have to set more eggs today about 90 so far but I may trim that back some, not sure yet.

morning folks!!

flash the once was house guinea seems to be enjoying the outside, she runs during the day and comes back to her coop at nite, tags along with the chickens some, and other times with the guineas

well poser decided one nite under the porch was enough and was back with the ducks last nite- silly thing!

there is some debate weather tator is a meaty or a possibly a white rock- her legs aren't think like the cornish- but she is alot more relaxed than the others- found some info online to help her survive past 3 months if she is a meaty- really hoping she isn't!
