Lil'Sooner--that self-blue (lavender) silkie chick is a dandy! It has a very high vaulted skull (bad hair LOL) that will develop into a really nice crest! Should develop into a beautiful bird. Does it have five toes on each foot? Too soon to be sure whether it is nb or bearded. If it has all its toes and is nb, it still has to be shown in All Other Variety. This doesn't make sense, as self-blues are now officially recognized by APA and ABA, but ONLY beardeds. The original silkies were nbs.

Excellent advice. I was going to suggest tossing a dog house in the run. I used to put about 8 standard sized chickens in a large igloo dog house at night, before Dean built the coop. I would place a sturdy window screen over the front of the dog house and prop it shut with a 2x4.
I had several of them and one night a possum or something scared one of the groups of birds and they all went into the other one dog house the next night - about 15 of them. It was like watching clowns get out of a small car at the circus.
