Get a large box or a room that you can cut the light. Just like in winter a hen will take a break due to the length of the day light. I would do a very dim setting.......Not sure what you have but you want enough light that she will eat & drink.
Ok...well for right now I have her in a meat patty box that is open on the top and side..covered over with a laundry basket and a blanket over part of that in a dim partly dark room until I can get the small pen moved in there.....Will that work? I will offer her more water and yogurt in about an hour and a half....I'm home all the time so if I have to nurse her I will.
Yes that should help, understand that her body has already started making the next egg so you may be doing this again tomorrow. Just think long term, you are going to have to give her enough time for the vent to heal. Do you have any out buildings that you could use? Once she is completely healed, if it happens again I would consider culling her because it will always be a problem, it happens sometimes.

I have barns etc. Here is what happened...the chickens pecked her vent til she bled...I brought her in cleaned her up etc...was afraid that she was egg bound but she wasn't she got better and then I was stupid and put her back with them before she was totally healed up....so they pecked her again and made it to where her vent scabbed over to the point it would not stretch to let the egg pass. It was not a large egg. So...I'm hoping that If it heals up she should lay just fine.

Of course, I outlasted just about everyone.
You got to sleep in too!
I went out like a light when I got off here.
What do you mean sleep in?
I had to get up early this morning.
Just because I wasn't up before daylight like you are doesn't mean I slept in.
I know that by the time I wake up though, that you have already done a half days work.
But thats not my fault.
