Not snowing here in Tulsa yet.
Girls all tucked in, hopefully be able to make it out in the morning to check on them.
The baby chicks kept me up most of the night. They were cheaping and cheaping and I thought at 1 am, they must be cold. So I got the heat lamp from the snake (which is turned of at night, cause he has a heating pad also) and put it on the brooder. (The clamp light my mom had put on the brooder was a hallogen one) Withing 10 minutes they were all sleeping. So today I got a red one. They are happy as can be.
I also got an extra lamp and put it in the brooder in the shed so there is a white heat lamp and a red one, so that during the day it is a little warmer and they still have the red one at night. We will see how that works. They seem happier. I need it to warm up so we can play with the older chicks. I really want them tame.
How long do you quarantine? I have heard 1 week, two weeks, longer?
