Morning all, it's going to be another great day in Okie-land middle 60's here.....and better tomorrow.
Sorry I don't know anything about trees, but it sure looks like you have something going on with them, how long did it take for them to die?

Joe, nice looking bator ! I am just old school.. I like building my own. A couple of years ago a
I build the freeze-a-bator and had real good hatch rates, like 90 percent or better..

Anyway you all have a great day

Mallen It looks like it might be lightning struck! Thats the only thing I know of that will split the bark. Other than than that ,if they are dead for a while the first sign of decay is the bark comming off. But Thats after they have been dead for a season or two.

hey guys, all this talk of bators- we have a large chest freezer, a stove, and a standup freezer if anyone wants them free to haul off! let me know

I don't much but from just looking at the pics, those are elm trees and they get a disease called Dutch Elm Disease. Once they have it, I don't think there is anything you can do to save them but again I am no expert.

got a text message last night from ropo , that the idabel show was cancelled due to barn usage and fees , man that is a bummer , was hoping to be there tooo ....

Grace could you pm , so we can figure something out on those roos ... thanks

WEll I got my niece a Phoniex roo at the auction sat and he had these 2 inch straight spurs that made him walk funny. So I decided to try the potatoe methoid. Didn't have a potatoe so put an apple in the micro-wave! It worked great. Left a new little spur barely and inch long, much thinner. It did bleed a bit. Maybe it should be done by the signs like dubbing. But it was easy, easy to do. Now I won't be leary of those long spurred roos anymore!

So you just put an apple in the microwave and his spurs fell off ?

Sounds like some kind of Voo Doo to me!

So do you have to put an apple in the microwave for each rooster ?
