Hey Sooner,

Do you happen to have a size chart... I have different kiddos this year and really not sure what size in the youth sizes to purchase... I know I need 1- LG Pink and 2- LG Maroon

Give me just a few minutes & I will get that posted for you.

No I'm still here. Just working on bulk feed procurement and pricing is getting better. I will share the results with everyone once I have a price per ton worked out. Carl.

Grace - Your inbox is full. We're stopping in Elgin just a little later than we'd originally planned. That will put us in your neighborhood around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Send me a message with directions so we can find you.

OK, definitely making headway on feed pricing but it will require additional folks involved to make this worthwhile.
I currently have stillwater milling at $392 a ton (40 bags) for a 20% layer so long as we buy 5 tons at a time and pick up at the mill, they will require a 1 week notice to run the feed.

Did you know there is a feed store by Shulter/Coalton? I don't know if they are open on Sundays though.

I haven't been down there to look for feed yet. I think I saw a feed store once in Mounds, which isn't far from where I live. The real trouble is finding one that carries game bird starter. It is getting hard to balance the cost of cheaper feed against the cost of the gas to go get it, and we don't have any place to store it in bulk were I wouldn't be paranoid about mold getting to it. Since I've been watching feed prices creeping higher, I've been eyeing open spots on the property that I could grow extra grains on. We'll have to see how my gardening skills hold up this season and maybe I'll start researching what grains would help supplement their feed the best. My carnivorous little quail are going to need extra protein, so I'll probably start raising batches of bugs for them to chow down on. Bil and I had talked about raising mealworms before, back when we had archer fish, and it seemed pretty straightforward.

That is great! Wonder if it will be too far away for it to be any help to me.

I am working on it so we can all benefit from the pricing but it will require some planning to get it together. maybe regional pick up or something. The current pricing is making a big difference in comparison to what else is out there it averages $5-6 a bag cheaper.

Looking at the round trip mileage for me & the price per gallon of gas I don't know that the savings will work out for me.
