i feel for ya haveing to pay that for birds, i have a herd of bantam cornish i have picked up in several places in the last year. i think the most i paid per bird was 12.50.
i think in my large cornish i paid like 10 a bird.
all are from show stock, so i guess they are pretty good birds.
it is not the price of the bird that makes a darn bit of difference, it is the bird itself. i have gotten birds from show breeders that werent worth giveing away.
i bought 15 birds at an auction one friday, sold them on saturday, and all but 3 were on champion row 2 weeks later.
paying too much for birds means nothing, other than too much was paid.
bloodlines are a joke, just because i have birds that win everynow and then means nothing about my birds. you take a half decent bird and treat it right it will get better. you take a half decent bird and do a few tricks to it and it becomes a fantastic bird!
if you know what you are looking for, you can find good breeder birds about anywhere without haveing to pay ridiculous amounts for them.
