Al - They were perfect. We went straight there.
This BYC chicken network made the impossible happen. Thanks, Matthew, for getting hold of Al. Thanks, Al, for charging to my rescue. Thanks, Peaches, for getting hold of Jeannie. Thanks, Sooner, for copying my post to Grace. If I've messed up the order or forgotten anyone in the chain of events, consider this a BIG THANK YOU from me, and my error or omission is due to advanced age and senility.
Victoria and I had a blast. It was a long day on the road, but as a lesson, I think it was worthy. Victoria met caring, knowledgeable people, practiced the art of visiting, observed the changing landscape as we moved through Oklahoma, and always kept the welfare of the birds as her first priority. She was an excellent co-pilot and traveling companion. Today we rest... Actually, today we look at the pens, confirm who moves where, and then we move birds. Rest break over. Time to go to work.
Donnie - Yes. We went to a place (Thanks, Al) called Pizza Biz, in Elgin, and ordered two large pizzas. We got to watch as they were made. It was really neat. They were delicious. Maybe we should have ordered three. The pizza chef was a great conversationalist. We got to visit with her while the pizzas were in the oven.
