Land taxes due this 1st, so it promises to be another tight payday...again.

Poser was back in the coop with the ducks last night, hope she wasn't scared of somthing.
When robin said that tator tot was a meat bird, I said she is a waiting BCD. she gave me this blank stare. I told her "Big Chicken Dinner."
yes, I was ready to duck.

hey coral, I figure the kids I subbed at Hilldale Elementry are 10, and 11th grades now, one particular girl stands out, Katy Wilson 4th grade then in jan 2006. I had just assigned the class to reading time, and the teacher had said they could read where they wanted. so everything was quiet, then I glanced down, Katy's head was right by my food, I asked her if she was comfortable, she said "uh uuh. I said 'ok', glad I looked first.
that one sticks out in my mind.
I subbed at Hilldale Elementry until fall 2009, I subbed three times, but they never called me back in. Im credited up to 8th grade to teach, was unable to get hired anywhere. guess I was too old, turn 60 this year.
Robin has a table next to the window with feed on it for the birds, it has about six chickens including barney, the rooster.
nuff rambling, cya

Good morning,
Busy day... Been a busy week... Getting ready for the sale this weekend...

Going up to the barn today to start setting up for the sale. They still havent done anything to the barn since
the spring livestock show, so I will go up today and do it for them.

Suppose to get up in the 80's today here. Beautiful! To beautiful to be inside the house, right?

robin,
I would tend to agree with Al here. If it is CRD or MG the best course is to cull the bird. There are a few other things that can cause apparent long term resperatory distress and on a hit and miss basis. Poultry can get fungal infections in thier lungs which scar over and is incurable, as well as Gape worms which are very difficult to get rid of, all of these can be contageous or transmitted however some birds have stronger imunities than others.
In any case it would be in your flocks best interest to cull the bird. I know this can be difficult but at times it is the best solution.

Like I said CRD/MG can be very decieving and can sometimes be hidden very well in otherwise healthy looking and acting birds, they may never show any outward sign's as is the case most times. I am not saying it has it but that is a consideration when you have reaccuring symptoms.

Does the wheezing have a gurggling sound to it sometimes ?? and does it happen after a few day's of heavy rain or high humidity. Sometimes if you leave it alone and don't treat it with Tylon it goes away for awhile, but then comes right back like clockwork. The Banty's may never show any sign's of MG but like I said still be vicious carriers. It can also be carried into an area through bio contamination, which most folks don't pay attention too. Robin : these are things that just have to be thought of and considered because it's best to be safer than sorry. Good luck.
