Today a little partridge cochin chick hatched under my broody partridge pullet Louise!
She has been sitting on her eggs for forever it seems. I went to check if her sister Thelma had layed another egg in her nest, (I'd marked Louise's eggs with an X). I now have him/her(the chick) in the brooder with 9, 1 week old mille fleur cochin chicks. He is so tiny compared to them but he fit right in the middle and they didn't even notice. I was getting worried that I'd never get any partridge chicks.

I really makes me smile to think about Poser now having a goose friend.

what is really funny about them is they act like they have always been together- and heaven help us if we get too close to the porch aka nest! man that guy can hiss! he really is fascinating to watch- and super protective of his lady, although all the waterfowl seem to travel alot together-

I went to look at the OKC Craigslist - wow! I have never seen so few posts!
saw several posts at the top about reporting flaggers to Craigslist and a tacky comment apparently from the flagger about letting folks post now, but tomorrow is a new day.

another question folks- by gentle brahma roo will walk up behind me when i am giving treats and peck my leg- at first i thought he was impatient- today he pecked hard and i booted him across the run- man he gave me a stink eye! so, is it just cause of spring? or is he getting aggressive? he has never shown anything like this until the last month...
