I am sorry i missed you tonight. I was wearing a purple tee shirt. I was too busy today to check my PMs! I have more plans for my weekend than time.

I would NOT put new birds in with others. Quarantine them for at least a minimum of two weeks. Most people quarantine for a month. New birds could carry a disease that could spread to your whole flock.

Sort of smooth how I managed to "miss" working the entire garage sale

You should have asked Jaxon to show you the madagascars. He would have done that for you. They are a pretty blue splash.
Yes, he was very proud to have recovered the madagascar egg before they ate it. They have been laying them at the end of the 6 foot long pen where there isn't any access, then eating them before we can get them out of there. You have to put a stick in between the wire of the cage and sort of hockey putt it back to the end of the cage where the opening is.
I bought the A-frame they are in at the Fletcher auction and like the design - except if I ever make any - I want to have access at both ends.

I have used a plastic spaghetti spoon like thingy taped to a stick before but Like greybear said. the golf ball things are the best.
Maybe you could build a nest box with access from the outside of the pen. That what I am gonna do on a few of my smaller breeding pens.

Jack cuts the top half of the thick can coozies (sp ?) and attatches them to the end of a 2' to 3' long stick. That is how he retrieves eggs from the nest boxes in his coops.

I forgot about that. I have seen Jack carrying that around.

Thanks everyone for your help. I think tomorrow we are going to build like a temporary tractor so they can root around in the grass, but everyone is up for the night. MJ - I was the one that bought the ridiculously priced chickens lol.

Edited to add - that they are up but not together, just the new birds dont have outside access or grass.
