We have two males to prevent that puppy thing from happening. Okcarla does have m/f from unrelated stock and will be able to breed in the future.
Yep, I bought 2 show bloodline females in Iowa and a show bloodline male in Missouri. They
are great dogs. They'll turn 2 years old this summer, so eventually we intend to have some litters.
I've learned that my male, Thunder, is very determined when I've had to keep him from the females when they were in season. He can clear a 6 foot high dog run with little effort. Now when I have to confine him, he has to keep a pen full of naked neck chickens company. It's the only pen that has a reinforced wire top over the pen. Thunder helps me catch goats too. Whenever I tell him to "go get 'em" he chaises the goat until it stops, then he holds it with his mouth on a back leg or the back of it's neck until I reach the goat and then he lets go. Great dog!
Here's an old pic of Gerald with a couple of the dogs and a few of our fainting goats.
And a pic from last fall of Thunder & Destiny posing for the camera
I trimmed their fur last year, and may do it again this year if we have trouble with sandburs and briars. Otherwise, I don't mind red dirt colored dreadlocks
They love to lay in our creek in the summertime too.
