Thanks AL! I'll do my best. We've got a little variety, nothing really spectacular,,, yet. Got started with BO's last summer, hatched out some eggs I got from Okie Hen, here's some pics of them I took a couple of days ago.

Here's a shot of the hatch we had Monday & Tuesday. We hatched 20 of 22 BO's and 11 of 12 BR's all our eggs. We're proud to finally have a good hatch! A little disappointed with our RIR's though, 0/7.

Here's a shot of our L/Brahma roo, he's a pretty good size boy. I'll be separating him and his two girls this week for breeding and hatching.

Not real good shots, I'll get better ones soon. We also have a trio of Welsummers (and a dozen eggs in the bator now) a few RIR's and of course a few silkies, my wife's favorite. I'll get shots of them up soon.

Tom

we love pics can't whait to see more good looking buffs

Caity insisted we use the 1986 Hova...hand turning 3 times a day last summer she had 3 sets at 100%, she read that call ducks didnt have good hatch rates so she went with what she knows...keep the fingers crossed on these call duck eggs.

Hey Al, i didn't know they came in such variety! love the lace ones!

the guinea looks good, wouldn't get off my arm for quite some time- will sleep good tonite! saw a thread about having them in a run with a mirror and roosts- so i guess i need to come up with something along those lines- the rest the birds were chasing her all over when they saw her- geese, ducks, chickens...sheesh!

No not realy, your thinking of the Cornish cross commercial meat bird these are different, although this breed is used in breeding those commercial fatties, although it's not an easy formula, but these do make fine table fare if one had the notion, I often eat the culls

that will make a huge garden
smile.png

It is odd to have it be so cold this morning, when the heat caused some of my broccoli to bolt last week.

Yes, We have 16 raised beds that are 4 x 16 and seven beds that are 5 feet wide and run on a slanted fence so the beds are 8 feet long at one end and 24 at the other end. Then we also have one bed that is 18 x 18. Thats where I usually plant corn or squash, pumpkin, watermelon and cantalope. This year it will be corn.
Got 1/2 the tomatoes (Arkansas Traveler, Parks Whopper and Super fantastic) and peppers (Tam Jalepenos, Anaheim, and hot yellow banana) planted.

The day was beautiful to move the compost to the garden with the tractor, work up two of the beds and plant.

MIL came today so was able to send her home with asparagus, lettuce, spinach, collards, onions and radishes.

Joe what colors are you hatching out of those NN eggs besides black,or they all black?
Our auction today was long and boring, too much junk and to many plants.(a guy with a greenhouse loaded the barn full of p,ants!) the auctioneer took to long on the junk and p,ants and then rushed thru the birds and critters so everything sold cheap. I did pick up a pair of nice games. Like I needed them!lol oh well I'm sure someone will want them ,right Teach and Graybear!lol getting better at the chicken math, sold three Roos and only bought one! I'm surprised my neighbors haven't rebelled, last week I had thirteen Roos crowing.Six of them big ones, and the turken roo is more like a dinosaur roar!
