Evening everyone.
I am glad I'm not the only one who names their birds.
I have kind of taken over the care of the laying flock and we have a wonderful BL Roo named "Sampson".
He got that name because the first time I caught him he opened his wings and I almost could not hold them together.
Then after that he visited the neighbors yard and their foo foo dog clipped his locks. He looked pretty bad for a while and was just getting better when he jumped the fence again.
Stupid bird!
Dog got him again and pealed some more feathers.
Well he has his locks back and he is as strong as ever and very mild tempered.
coons are also a sucker for vanilla extract...you can put it on anything, graham cracker, vanilla wafer, shoot, a scrap of cloth...they also like grape jelly, and in the summer time when it will get hot they love twizzlers...20 years experience coon huntin has to come in handy sometime...
Joe - False alarm. Looks like I'm going to be at the Admiral Flea Market this Saturday. DH has some things planned for early afternoon, so I've got to stay closer to home. Hope you have a blast at the sale in Centerton.
City - I can bring a box with chicks for swapping if you're headed for the Admiral Flea market this Saturday. They will stay in the cab of my truck so folks don't think they are for sale. I like to get a space way in the back, under the trees. I probably won't be there until 7:00. I don't know if I'll be able to load my birds Friday evening, or if I'll have to catch all of them Saturday morning. A lot depends on how tired I am after school on Friday.

OH WOW! He is soooo PURTY! He could be a ceramic model with how shiney he is. What type is he?
He is a Light Brown Leghorn. We have him and 5 LBL hens. Grace has done well showing the hens but the roo was always messed up when there was a show coming up.
