Could anyone confirm my suspicions please
In 2020 I took delivery of 7 chickens
They are a mixed flock and have laid prolifically up until Jan/ feb this year
Now I have approx 2 eggs each week from a flock of 7 hens!!
We have scoured our land. No eggs anywhere.
Was a i sold hens that are much older than we were told? They eat well and seem happy and healthy? They have layer pellets and additional oyster shells are offered they are now ‘pets’ I cant think of anything else to do to get them to lay, any ideas appreciated
They are now ‘pets’

I Looked at a few previous posts, and see that you are in the UK, and your chickens are approx. 2 years 9 mos old by now. Is that correct???

I don't have a personal answer for you, but I did find this reference:
https://backyardchickenproject.com/9-reasons-hens-stop-laying-eggs/
"Just like females of any type, female chicks hatch with only a certain number of ova in them. Once those ova have all transformed into eggs and been laid, that’s it, they’re gone and there won’t be any more. This can happen at any time, but most hens reach this point in their life around two or three years of age."

More information here, about conditions that might cause chickens to stop laying and other reproductive issues:
https://www.chickensandmore.com/egg-laying-problems/

Have they molted recently? They normally stop laying during a molt, which usually occurs during late summer/fall. Have any been broody or trying to hatch eggs this summer? Is it fall or spring right now where you live? Have any ever had any sneezing in the past?
