Hi again!

Today, I found my old Australorp banty sitting on the fake eggs in my nest box. The nest box is empty with no straw or shavings. She's too old and hasn't laid any eggs since I've had her. We were thinking about going to our local farm and getting 1 fertile egg for her to sit on, but I don't know anything about raising chicks! Will it work even though she's so old? Is it ok for her just to have 1 egg to sit on? We can't really have that many chickens in our flock because it's already a good size for our coop. Tell me what you guys think

She'll sit on whatever you give her, you just won't be able to put as many LF eggs under her because of the size. You could just give her one egg, but I'd put at least three under her in case some don't hatch and to increase the chances of getting at least one pullet.
