Old Chicken's Leg is Injured

:hugs:hugs:hugs

I really like Terry Golson's HenCam. She doesn't blog about chickens anymore, but her articles are still there along with the Cams. I followed her for several years (and watched her chickens on the cams) long before I ever had chickens. I've found that she seems to be kind and caring, but is also direct and common sense with her methods.

I do hope Grapes improves with some TLC, please keep us posted.

I fed her some warm oatmeal today! I made it a little runny to encourage her to drink. She seems to be standing a little more, but can still only move a few feet. Her spirit is still very strong though!

over run with chickens.... like that one
LOL @Taylorbrood I wish I could take credit for that one - it's something that BYC puts on there - like yours says "chillin' with my peeps". Don't hold me to it, but I think it changes after a certain amount of posts. Premium members (I think, can change it to something custom if they wish):)

@YoshiWolfox I'm glad she is eating. Warm oatmeal sounds good (you could sneak in some extra vitamins in the oatmeal;)).

9yrs is a long time in chicken years - you have obviously done something right with her.
Thank you for the update - if you have any photos of Grapes, we would love to see her.

I have a few pics of her I've taken earlier this year and last year. You can see how small she is compared to my other chickens!

You have a lovely flock!

Grapes is so beautiful! What a cute photo of her - she is tiny compared to the big gals:)
Someday, I may have to get a few bantams, I think they would be a lot of fun.

Thank you for sharing your photos with us.

Bantams are really neat! They lay the tiniest eggs and are just fun sized little chickens.

And relating to her size, my mother thinks it could possibly be my rooster trying to mate with Grapes and putting too much weight on her? She's layed about 3 or 4 eggs this year, but I'm not sure if they were fertilized or not. I've 'caught him in the act' a few times on top of poor little Grapes!
