Old Dog Nurses Unite! Support and information sharing thread

What a great bunch of sweet and happy faces! They really seem to appreciate being appreciated in their old age don't they?

Jaime- Your Buddy was a lucky man, with his own gazebo! I though our girl had it made with her inflatable dog house and warming pad.

I bet you became a good trainer out of it too. That last picture is priceless. I had a dear cat from the ages of 10 until I was 28, more than 2/3 of life lead to that point. It must have been so hard to see Buddy go.

Digging up puppy pics now...

Awww, poor old girl. It is so hard when they are hurting and crying. I am grateful that we have been able to manage pain with a little meloxicam or ketaprofen after exercise. A couple of years ago I got a memory foam mattress topper in a too big size and cut it down to fit using the scraps to make dog beds. I think that's why my girl sleeps so late! She loves her beds and I think it really helps with stiffness. Has your girl always been a vocal dog?

It's true, we are so lucky to have them into old age. I am really enjoying Echo at this stage in the game. She is so funny, with her little old lady quirks.

Great thread! I have a appointment tomorrow with my vet. My 14 year old cavalier is getting weak in her back legs. I want to discus a treatment plan to keep her comfortable.

Jessie has been a very slight barker, usually at the cats or whatever, now she goes outside and just BARKS BARKS BARKS - I am going to have to look at that, the memory foam, maybe I can make her a nice bed. I bought her one of those beds that Montel WIlliams was hawking on an informmerical, and darn, don't you know, it really is a GREAT bed!

Forgive me but I couldn't resist posting some more pics of my girl back in the glory days.

Had to go to the paper pictures but here is Echo as a pup.

She always carried her own pack in the backcountry, she was such an athletic dog.

Kudos to you for taking him in.

We thought he was old when we got him but we thought he was 10-12 years no 15-19. He hasn't thought of leaving.
