Exactly! The last brand I bought was perfect for sitting and was all hemp. But I’m very disappointed with Old Domionion.I forgot what brand I bought last time (off Amazon), but it had a lot of "fuzz" in it too. Not harmful to the birds and doesn't make the bedding unusable, however it does make it not-very-sifting-friendly.![]()
I have already had to take them off to e chicks with feathered feet. They need to sharpen the blades on the machine that chops their hemp. Hemp fibers are very strong. I'd be afraid of the birds getting that stuff wound around their feet and legs.
I think this might be an anomaly. I use Dominion Hemp and I have see the "fuzz" a couple of times, but it's such a small percentage of the 33# weight, that it's virtually nothing and most bags just have good clean hemp hurd.Wasn’t sure where I should post this.
Anyone use old dominion hemp? It is supposed to have this much fuzz?
Another brand I purchased before wasn’t like this. View attachment 3445217
