I made the mistake of buying old english chicks from a hatchery, color was all over the map and size was way to big for being bantams, none were of show quality so I ended up giving them all away. If you're looking for a back yard flock they may not be so bad but if you want show quality contact an honest breeder that shows his/her birds. The OEGB International Society web site can give lots of useful information about old english bantams.

Thanks for the advice Ozark. I'm just getting into chickens so I'm not really thinking about showing any of these birds, I'm just looking for some yard candy.

Last year I ordered 25 polish from ideal. I culled and sold off all but a trio. This year I will breed my own. They were black crested white and the color was all over the place.
