Years ago I had a Canon TX SLR. No automatic anything couple of lenses and I must have taken a thousand pictures with that thing. It was heavy as a brick housing made of metal and I didint even have a flash.... I had to sell it when my horse had to go to hospital.... sigh. I Seriously want a DSLR now. What I do not like is the shutter speed of the little hand helds. You frame up a shot and by the time that cute goat head becomes a cute goat buttt. LOL. Nikon Coolpix is not a bad camera for scenery and family shots around birthdays and stuff, but I want more.

Can I just jump in here?
My friend has a little Cannon number: fits in her pocket and was less than £100,- a couple of years ago. She does fabulous action shots coz it had a really good motor drive. If you look at my pics on Facebook, you'll see what I mean...All the horse ones over jumps and showing the progression through a double. If you want to send me a Friend request so you can see, pleas do

A camera with film can shoot rings around most of the digitials. speed wise. I am waiting till the Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras come down in price so that I can afford one.

Maybe, but with my digital camera I can take literally 10,000 pictures or more and don't have to pay a cent for processing OR film - so I've learned to work around the speed thing!!

no good news/ Mama gave up on Christmas day. It was day 26 for her, and she said enough is enough. A couple of the eggs never developed, others quit. We had a few 10 degree nights, with days in the teens. Her time off the nest daily may have been too much? Not sure.

Shop mama is still sitting. I'm going to need to break her. Nothing happening. It's been at least 30 days, she is still sitting and now thinks it is fun to fly past me in the shop. I need to break her and move her out.

I've been unusually busy...hence the non posts. But thanks everyone for thinking of me!

Today the girls had a boycott, I only got 2 eggs, most days I usually get 6. I guess they need a break too. It's cold outside. Are your chickens still mating? mine are I guess they don't stop like the ducks do.

yup, still mating. I saw the ducks mating the other day too. That was a 1st in a while however. I have a pen with a few Sumatra hens and a few boys that I incubated last spring. The girls have bald necks. Lots of mating going on there....
